The security flaws have been published on The Zero Day initiative website.

Security firm Trend Micro said In a security bulletin newly discovered vulnerabilities left the software insecure.  "The only way to protect your Windows systems from potential attacks against these or other vulnerabilities in Apple QuickTime now is to uninstall it,” it said.

QuickTime can still be downloaded from Apple’s Website but it is now indicated that it is a legacy tool. Meanwhile, Mac users will continue to receive updates.

An existing guide to uninstalling Quick Time on Windows can be found on Windows and states. "Uninstalling QuickTime 7 also removes the legacy QuickTime 7 web plug-in, if present. Removing legacy browser plug-ins will enhance the security of your PC."
