For the 5th year, our senior software architect David Carr attended the PHP UK conference, a 2 day annual programming event held in London.
Here David was able to network with professional level developers while attending workshops and seminars expanding his knowledge of how to work with the cutting edge developments of the PHP language.
For the first time, the format had been changed at the venue, instead of talks lasting just one hour, developers were able to book spots on workshops throughout both days that took a deeper dive into development subjects.
For David, there were two standout workshops on offer that he attended that he felt would bring real value to his team when put into practice on his return.
The first of these was testing, automated testing has been something David has been curious about for a while. This workshop focused on unit testing which would allow for more efficient development of CRM systems with a higher quality code base.
The second workshop focused on the right tools and methods for the delivery of code reviews. This again would contribute to the quality of the code base.
Today David has been passing on his knowledge to the rest of the development team and is already planning his next Laravel themed PHP conference.
