Our Principal Software Architect, David Carr, once more, aims to raise funds for Diabetes UK by Completing their One Million Step Challenge!
The challenge begins July 1st 2021, and participants aim to walk or run at least 1 million steps over 3 months, roughly working out to 11’000 steps a day. The challenge, therefore, is not only physical but one of consistency and persistence.
David has decided this year to raise the stakes aiming for a whopping 1.7 million steps, which would beat his previous attempt in 2019 by 400,000 steps. This year Dave hopes to smash his 1 million target even further.
Of course, this is all in the name of raising funds for an excellent cause. Diabetes UK is a long-established charity researching to fight the disease, while also providing support to sufferers across the UK.
When asked why he decided to take on the challenge, David said:
"The challenge first interested me for the health benefits. Diabetes is a disease that has affected my own family, so it’s great to be fundraising for a cause that is important to me personally, while building habits that can reduce my chance of developing the same condition."
Good luck David, you have done it before, and we know you can do it again!
