The One Point Foundation donated £50 to the charity, Martin House, in support of Bee Interiors' efforts to raise funds for the charity.

Belinda Allinson, of Bee Interiors, participated in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, with the aim to raise funds for their chosen charity, Martin House, which provides family led care for children with life shortening conditions.

Martin House is a place where children, young people and families from across West, North, and East Yorkshire, can go and stay from time-to-time along their journey and find support, rest, and practical help.

The One Point Foundation have continued to support Hull-based education charity, Run With It, with a donation to fund enrichment days for schools surrounding the Hull area. Alongside this, The One Point Foundation further donated 2 laptops.

Run With It is a charity with an excellent mission and The One Point are proud to have supported the charity's growth since 2016.

The donation to Run With It was in the interest of supporting literacy and numeracy programmes for Dunswell Academy, Swanland Primary School, Grimoldby Primary School and St Anne's School and Sixth Form College.

We have seen great results from the programmes being held as a result of our donation and we look forward to seeing more from Run With It.

"I'm taking part in the One Million Step Challenge to support people affected by diabetes. I've not been very active recently but this is a cause I want to support and be more active at the same time. There are 4.7 million people living with diabetes in the UK, the complications of which lead to over 500 premature deaths every week. So, I'm stepping towards a healthier me, and a better future for people living with diabetes."

In November 2019, Martin, Danny and Ben took part in the Hardwolds 80 Ultra-Marathon.

They decided to take part in this Ultra-Marathon because they wanted to push their physical and mental capabilities, as well as support The One Point Foundation. So, they gathered a group of like-minded runners, who wanted to face the challenge, whilst raising money for a good cause.

TOP Foundation Hardwolds 80 Ultra-Marathon

The Hardwolds 80 is an Ultra-Marathon that follows the Wolds Way from Hessle to Filey, passing through chalk landscapes with dry valleys and stunning wildlife, alongside market towns and ancient villages such as Brantingham, Thixendale and the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy, before arriving at the seaside resort of Filey.

Not only was completing the Hardwolds 80 Ultra-Marathon a huge individual achievement for all 3 of them, but they also managed to raise an amazing sum of £735 for The One Point Foundation!

TOP sponsors The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus:

TOP sponsors Dementia Bus

We recently sponsored The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus, which visited Hica's, The Hollies, on 12th March 2020, where carers could experience symptoms of dementia through a virtual tour inside the bus.

"The worldwide, scientifically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like, allows delegates to enter the world of the person and understand which simple changes need to be made to their practice and environment to really improve lives of people with dementia."

"The need to have a better understanding of the physical effects of dementia is so important for anyone that comes into direct or indirect contact with people living with dementia. Giving the ability to walk in the shoes of people with dementia is an inspirational experience and one that has changed the way I view people who live with dementia."

TOP donate 2 Butterflies in support of HER Breast Friends:

Butterfly Effect

In celebration of their 15th anniversary, HER Breast Friends has launched 'The Butterfly Effect' to raise awareness of breast cancer and vital funds for the charity.

"We are inviting businesses and schools to purchase and decorate a blank MDF Butterfly. The decorated butterflies will then be displayed in various venues across and Hull and East Yorkshire for a period of time, ahead of a public vote to determine the winning butterfly in both categories. The winners will be announced at The Butterfly Ball on 7th November 2020."

In support of HER Breast Friend's 'The Butterfly Effect', The One Point are donating 2 Butterflies to Swanland Primary School and St Anne's Primary School, for them to decorate and take part in the public vote to determine the winning butterfly.

The One Point Foundation would like to extend a huge thank you to each individual and organisation that has helped support the growth of our charity over the past year, so that we can continue to give back to our local community!
