The Anniversary Update for Windows 10 is on the way and will be released on August 2nd. The update will include enhancements to Cortana and the web browser, Edge - as well as an attempt to reinvent the stylus.
In response to a big trend across the tech industry this entire year, Microsoft's voice-activated assistant Cortana is becoming an even more integral part of the operating system. Cortana will soon sit above the lock screen on Windows-powered devices so you won't have to sign in to your device to interact with Cortana.
Windows Ink will be making its first full public debut in this new update and for the first time the stylus will become a first class method of input Like Cortana, with Windows Ink, there will be no need to unlock the device to start using it either.
Key features of windows Ink include:
Quickly and easily take notes, sketch on your screenshots, or draw out your ideas.
Remember common tasks with Smart Sticky notes for reminding you of flight times or offering directions using Maps.
Ink-specific features in key apps, like using handwriting in Office, ink annotations in Microsoft Edge or drawing custom routes in Maps.
It’s been nearly a year since Windows 10 was launched meaning that those who want to upgrade will need to act fast as once the free upgrade offer ends they will need to pay out £89 to do so.
