The One Point spent a magnificent afternoon last Friday (July 15th) rewarding the achievements of excellence of over 750 Havelock Academy students at their annual ceremony at a packed out Grimsby Auditorium. The One Point sponsor the academy as part of its ongoing CSR commitment to improving the lives of youngsters in the Hull and Humber region; part of its educational program.
Over the past 2 years students have benefited from prizes including iPads, Kindles and mobile phones as awards for improving, amongst other things, educational performance, attendance and attitude. The One Point also get involved in the classroom and at away days, often with The One Point film crew in tow making a DVD as a recruitment tool for the Academy
At the event more prizes were handed out by The One Point. Alison Ellis, Director of Mobile Communications at The One Point said; "It is always quite emotional to see such a move forward. I feel the work the Havelock Academy management, teaching and non-teaching staff put into improving conditions, motivation and results is highly commendable. This really enforces my own view that it does not take money to change lives, it take a positive philosophy! We have committed for another year."
