We first started working with Warrington Wolves in 2009 when we were contracted to design and build the last website, since then we have maintained a very close working relationship. When Warrington asked us to come up with a new design and build we were really excited. We knew this project was going to be a challenge.
One of the key factors requested by the club was for more opportunities for their fans to engage with the website. When designing this new website we wanted to ensure that the clubs various social media accounts were well integrated into the design and that fans would be able to connect easily if they wanted to voice their opinion.
With 5 years passing since the last redesign and with new technology emerging at a rapid pace Warrington Wolves has been experiencing increased traffic from devices such as tablets and smartphones. For this reason we advised and delivered a responsive new design that ensures that the layout would adapt to the screen size regardless of device.
Something we also wanted to do was to showcase the content of the site. We looked closely at how the sites current content was displayed to enable us to build a website that allowed a more consistent feel across the pages.
In addition to creating a new look we also replaced the existing content management system (CMS) to be more flexible and also allow editing on mobiles and tablets to allow more freedom to Warrington Wolves.
David Carr the lead developer on the project said "Both myself and the team here at The One Point are thrilled to be working with Warrington Wolves again. This has again been an extremely exciting project. The club are very forward thinking, always thinking about their fans first. We really hope that everyone likes what we have aimed to achieve for them."
