The One Point Managing Director, Martin Lauer has been awarded ‘Hull Business Development Entrepeneur of the year 2007’ for outstanding business services and charitable contributions particularly in the local environment. Martin said: “I feel very proud to be given this award. It emphasises all the hard work that our team has put in this year and we are looking forward to the great things coming in 2008.”
The One Point have become bondholders in the City of Hull. The company is investing in Hull’s future by working with other businesses within the area to raise the profile of the city and develop a thriving climate to help Hull businesses prosper. HULL FC revealed today they have completed a fivefigure rolling deal with local company The One Point to be their collar sponsors from 2008. It is a new association between the companies and one The One Point managing director Martin Lauer is delighted about. Martin Lauer, MD of The Onee Point will be taking part in the Cannons (Hull) indoor triathlon in order to raise funds for charity. Along with other top business people from the Humber region, Martin will do 56 lengths of Cannons Swimming Pool (1 km), an 8 mile cycle (13 km) and a 5 mile walk on a treadmill (8 km) all in sequence. Its a daunting task for the business people involved but something that Cannons General Manager, Neil Jackson believes will benefit everyone involved:
The One Point utilises the Chamber AGM to launch its new services under the ‘Community’ brand – this included the launch of web services, telecoms and data services as a converged service. The service serves to be popular amongst our customers.
The acceptance by the NHS of our tender proposal meant that we will have exclusive rights to market direct to over 36 NHS Trusts. The new mobile scheme will allow NHS Staff, Family and Friends to get dicounted mobile phone contracts as part of their group of benefit schemes. Money raised through the initiative will go toward supporting the NHS Trusts and chosen charities.
During the final Quarter of 2006 business customers of The One Point saved over £250,000 on their communications. The One Point has audited the savings of their customers within the region and found that they had saved over a quarter of a million as a result of the business team consulting and offering independent savings advice. This was £250,000 kept within the local economy. Subsequently The One Point have agreed to sponsor the Chamber Of Commerce AGM and utilise it as an opportunity to publish these saving to the same audience it launched the services to. 2007
The One Point sponsor the ‘Every Child Matters’ headteacher’s award at the Andrew Marvell Business & Enterprise College. Danielle Robinson was the winner and was presented with a mobile phone from Martin Lauer of The One Point, and presented with her certificate by Neil Hudgell, Hull KR Chairman.

Managing Director, Martin Lauer presented the ‘Made In Yorkshire’ Award of the Hull Film Festival 2006 to Shaun Clark with the 7 minute short film ‘Lightman’. The Hull Film festival took place from the 27th September - 1st October 2006 and has awarded local talented film makers with various awards.
