Apple responded to this information by saying 'That's a lot of people taking cyber security seriously'.

Venture capitalist Mary Meeker's 2013 internet trends report states that people tend to check their phone up to 150 times a day, putting this into perspective in comparison with apples estimated 80 unlocks per day, 150 checks a day doesn't sound far off apples estimated 80 unlocks per day, especially considering you can read texts, see notifications and see who sent you an email without even unlocking your phone.
