On Saturday 23rd November, Martin, Danny and Ben began the challenge of taking part in the Hardwolds 80 Ultra-Marathon.
They wanted to take part in this Ultra-Marathon because they wanted to push their physical and mental capabilities, as well as support The One Point Foundation.
They gathered a group of like-minded runners who wanted to face the challenge, whilst raising money for a good cause.
The Hardwolds 80 is an Ultra-Marathon that follows the Wolds Way from Hessle to Filey, passing through chalk landscapes with dry valleys and stunning wildlife, alongside market towns and ancient villages such as Brantingham, Thixendale and the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy, before arriving at the seaside resort of Filey.
The One Point Foundation, established in 2018 by The One Point and Smile Foundation, aims to support causes helping to provide opportunities for young people in the local area and to support causes promoting good health and well-being in the local area.
Martin began the relay-style Ultra-Marathon at around 8:30am, where he ran 20 miles from Hessle to near Market Weighton, completing this in 4 hours! Ben then ran the next 20 miles, handing over to Danny who ran the final 40 miles! They crossed over the finish line at around 04:45am on Sunday 24th November, with a fantastic time of 20 hours, 39 minutes and 43 seconds!
Not only was completing the Hardwolds 80 Ultra-Marathon a huge achievement for all 3 of them, but they also managed to raise an amazing sum of £735 for The One Point Foundation!
Huge congratulations to you all from the whole TOP team!
