When O2 launched their 5G network last October, they committed to 50 towns and cities being switched on by Summer 2020. On 11 June they announced that O2 5G is now available in 60 locations across the UK!
O2 customers with a 5G handset will be able to use 5G in these locations.
They'll be continually adding towns and cities to our coverage list, but it won't be blanket coverage in those locations. Their initial focus will be on the places where their customers need it most.

With ultra-low latency, faster speeds and new capabilities, 5G is completely different to anything we've seen before. It has the potential to transform the way your business operates, the way you engage and empower your people, and the way you serve your customers.
From remote maintenance of equipment in the field, to accurate monitoring of your workforce and operations, ultra-low latency will enable real-time communication between IoT devices across your business.
"I believe 5G is going to revolutionise the way people and businesses use mobile connectivity, unlocking huge possibilities for our economy and society. No one in the country has all the answers today, but I'm excited about getting it into the hands of our customers and working with leading partners to help shape the future of 5G for the next generation."
As an O2 Direct Partner, we provide 5G business tariffs to our customers. These tariffs suit businesses of every size, whatever their data requirements.
It's important to note that 5G is not simply replacing 4G, they will work alongside each other with O2 continuing to invest in 4G, which remains the backbone of the network. O2 currently offers 4G in almost 19,000 cities, towns and villages across the UK and in the first half of 2019, they upgraded 4G capacity in a further 500,000 UK postal codes!
