O2 is launching 5G, and we want you to be the first to know.

We’re excited to announce that our customers can now access 5G through their custom plans that allow you to be flexible and take advantage of 5G on your terms. This means you don’t have to wait for a new phone or contract – just choose the plan that works best for your business needs. You can even mix-and-match with 4G LTE devices if you prefer!

With speeds up to 10x faster than 4G LTE, it will transform how businesses operate by allowing them more flexibility when working remotely in an office or at home. It also allows employees who are traveling abroad easier access back into the country without having any interruptions in service. Plus, there are no contracts so switching between carriers is quick and easy! Switching has never been this simple before!

O2 5G is now available on the best business network in:

  • Belfast

  • Cardiff

  • Edinburgh

  • Leeds

  • London

  • Slough

The 5G network will improve capacity and reliability in key places.

O2 will increase this to 20 locations in 2019 and aim to have 5G available in a total of 50 towns and cities by Summer 2020. These 20 locations include; Coventry, Nottingham, Blackpool, Derby, Leicester, Reading, Bournemouth, Lisburn, Slough, Bristol, Eton, Stoke, Cardiff, Guildford, Norwich and Windsor.

More locations accross the country are joining the 5G transformation. As many as 60 new locations are now part of the O2 5G network and more joining soon.

With ultra-low latency, faster speeds and new capabilities, 5G is completely different to anything we've seen before. It has the potential to transform the way your business operates, the way you engage and empower your people, and the way you serve your customers.

What about 4G?

It's important to note that 5G is not simply replacing 4G, they will work alongside each other with O2 continuing to invest in 4G, which remains the backbone of the network. O2 currently offers 4G in almost 19,000 cities, towns and villages across the UK and in the first half of 2019, they upgraded 4G capacity in a further 500,000 UK postal codes!
