Apple have released a statement surrounding the popularity of their most recent device released last October, the iPhone XR. They have claimed that the iPhone XR is a roaring success as it is exceeding sales, selling the most number of units since its release, compared to the iPhone XS and XS Max that were released just a month prior to the XR. However, there are no exact figures of how many XR’s have actually sold as Apple have disclosed they will not be sharing the units of sales anymore.
This news follows reports that arose a few weeks ago surrounding Apple’s decision to cut the production of their 3 newest iPhone models, one of which being the newest iPhone model; the iPhone XR. It was in a recent interview with CNET, that the Vice President of Apple, Greg Joswiak, stated that the iPhone XR had been the company’s “most popular iPhone each and every day since the day it became available”, but this is the only official information about the alleged success of the XR.
Many people may be surprised by this sudden success claim from Apple, and they definitely aren’t the only ones after the negative reports that have been floating around the internet. However, the iPhone XR’s success is being pinned down to its more affordable price compared to its sibling devices. Currently the iPhone XR is selling for around £800, which is significantly cheaper than the XS and XS Max, which are between £1,100 and £1,300.
