This year The One Point team keeps up Christmas tradition by donating 100 shoeboxes to the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal.
The boxes were made for 50 boys and 50 girls aged between 6 and 12. Inside they contained a mix of essentials like soap, washcloths, toothbrushes and toothpaste as not all children are lucky enough to have access to basics like these as well as fun items like skipping ropes, balls, colouring books and pencils and other toys.
The shoe boxes were collected by Samaritans Purse who have distributed 124 million of the donated boxes to more than 150 countries since the annual appeal began in 1990. Their belief is that a small shoebox can have a big impact. "What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal".
This year The One Point staff has been collecting small items throughout the year in preparation for the tradition to donate to boxes meaning each child had a sticker pack, extra toys, sweets and fun stationary items.
