Every year, The One Point find a charitable organisation to help and donate to during the Christmas season. For the past few years, Samaritan’s Purse’s ‘Operation Christmas Child’ has been our charitable event of choice, and this year was no exception. We banded together a group of staff to help assemble and fill 100 shoeboxes for 100 disadvantaged girls and boys around the world.
We sent out an invitation to all staff at The One Point and IT@Spectrum asking them donate a small amount of their time on the day of putting together the shoeboxes to lend a helping hand. We had staff from both companies helping out in our event space throughout the day, assembling the boxes, packing, labelling and preparing them to be collected by Samaritan’s Purse. Everyone had a great time, as always!
The shoeboxes that we put together and donated to the charity, Samaritan’s Purse, were for children between the ages of 5 and 9. Each box we filled with hygiene items, fun toys and puzzles, colouring books and crayons, stickers, and sweets. We even had some staff donations, adding to the Christmas cheer. Once the boxes are packed, they are stored together in our warehouse, where they wait patiently to be collected and distributed around the world to make a child’s Christmas brighter.
This year marked our 5th year taking part in donating shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
